For most people, a lot of thought goes into a name. Whether you’re naming an adorable bundle of joy, a pet, or a houseplant you’ve just purchased and found the perfect spot in your home for, a name carries significance. There’s a story behind it that’s just waiting to be told. Michelle means “Who is like God?” As a Christian, it goes without saying that there is a great deal of significance attached to it. There’s a story behind my name as well. Before I was born, my mother was a fan of some television show that had a Michelle as one of the main characters. According to her, she was a bright and cheerful girl, and I suppose my mother wanted me to have those qualities as well. However, this blog post is dedicated to the name of my blog: A Brighter Picture.
The first thing that I’d like to add is that, as a bright girl, why not choose a blog name that reflects that? But there’s more to it than that. I created this blog right after enduring yet another anxiety attack. As much as life has its issues, sometimes all it takes is changing your perspective. I want this name to remind me that no matter how gloomy things seem, in the same way there’s light at the end of the tunnel, there’s always a brighter picture to look forward to.
